MADOC, June 22nd - The Heart of Hastings Hospice held its 16th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at West Highland Golf Club, marking another memorable and successful event. With 14 teams and 56 participants, the day was filled with camaraderie and strong community support.
"We were thrilled to have a beautiful day for our tournament, making it a fun-filled day in the sun," said Pauline Pietschmann, Fundraising and Awareness Coordinator at The Heart of Hastings Hospice. "The community's support around this event was tremendous, and the funds raised are crucial for maintaining our essential, free programs and services."
Notable sponsors at the event included Gold Sponsor Procter & Gamble, with continued support from DC Farms, Bay Subaru, and McKillop & Associates.
Adding to the excitement, professional golf entertainer Todd Keirstead returned to showcase his impressive trick shots and assist with fundraising on Hole One. While final numbers are still being tallied, it is anticipated that the event raised close to $18,000.
The Heart of Hastings Hospice is a community-based volunteer service providing in-home palliative care to individuals in the Central Hastings area. They also operate a newly expanded, 24-hour hospice residence with three beds for those needing end of life care and support. All services are provided free of charge, focusing on the emotional, physical, spiritual, and psychological needs of individuals and their families. The hospice extends its continued support through grief and bereavement services.
