Heidi came to The Heart of Hastings Hospice initially as a volunteer with a desire to help those in her community. With a background in Psychology and Palliative Care experience, she brings a strong foundation to her role. Heidi provides a warm and welcome face to all, and a sensitivity to those we provide care for; people with terminal illness and their families.
Heidi has been a resident of Centre Hastings since childhood and resides here with her children.
Kaitlyn is an RPN who is passionate about Palliative Care. Her nursing experience and knowledge assists her to ensure our clients remain comfortable while admitted and their families feel supported beyond the client's life-journey.
Kaitlyn has been local to our area her entire life residing just outside of Madoc with her husband, dog and cat.
Niki moved to Tweed from Toronto when she was younger and quickly adapted to small town living. She is passionate about working with the community, educating and advocating on behalf of The Heart of Hastings Hospice. With an education in Psychology and over 15 years in a customer service/managerial role, she offers our clients a compassionate and supportive quality of care.
Laurie grew up in the Stirling area and has worked in her family business for over 23 years. With a degree in Sociology from the University of Ottawa, Laurie works with our volunteers to spearhead fundraising campaigns that support our Residential House and programs. She also raises awareness about Hospice Care working to break perceived stigmas surrounding it while promoting our Hospice. Laurie is an active member of the Rotary Club of Stirling, donating her time with other volunteers by coordinating fundraising efforts and advocating for support of community projects. She is also a proud hockey mom of two incredible children.
Having experienced the kindness and support of staff/volunteers who tended to her brother in Kelowna, BC, Maria understands how important hospice services are to the community. She considers it an honour to be part of The Heart of Hastings Hospice team, doing so since 2016. Maria spent the previous 7 years in various financial and administrative roles for the RCMP with the last two being as Executive Administrator for their Chief Financial Officer
Matt came to the Compassionate Care program in July 2018 looking to make a difference in the community. With an entrepreneurial background and experience in project management, he brings a unique problem-solving perspective that is results-driven. Ensuring people get the quality of care they deserve is very important to Matt and he enjoys "connecting the dots" for people.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys spending time with his family, the outdoors, playing hockey and is an avid beekeeper..
